Street Cones working with our friends at The Journey, Helensburgh, https://linktr.ee/thejourneyfit
are hoping to start a running club which runs at midnight through the City.
Why?
Many of us, especially those of us who are suffering from mental health problems find it very difficult to sleep at night - we try, however as soon as our head hits the pillow we start to think. Then those thoughts escalate to worries and then to sometimes quite irrational and illogical thinking. That's the case for me and I just can't sleep.
Hi, I'm Ben and I'm one of the partners here at Street Cones. Often I'll go for a walk - I'm personally not a runner - though I'll be joining to walk the 5km we are suggesting.
Walking, and sometimes talking to myself whilst walking, really helps me get to grips with my thinking, clear my head and helps make me tired and ready to sleep. It gets me outdoors, seeing and feeling nature in all its quiet glory at 2 a.m. in the morning. Listening to the noise of animals, and the City or the Countryside. Smelling the fresh earth after the rain.
So have a look at the video and come and join us on Wednesday 6th April 2022 meeting at 11.30p.m. at Kelvingrove Park Bandstand.
If you are a Charity and want to come along or bring friends do let us know ben@streetcones.co.uk
I'll be there walking and talking and hopefully this time, not to myself. I'm a great listener by the way.
